A Blogger's Responsibility

Today, I would have written about how happy I am because my crush (hayyyyy....) sees the girl I hate as nothing more than a friend. Today, I would have written about how some people are just so dumb that they cannot get their own blogs and instead just troll on the popular ones. Today, I would have written about how Sen. Bong Revilla is so overly dramatic and how I like how Patricia Evangelista summed it all up. I would have...but instead, I'm not. Why?

Yesterday, at around 11:37 pm, HR 1109 has been approved by the House of Representatives. What is HR 1109 all about? In two words - Constituent Assembly, and that with or without the consent of the Senate. Funny how this was done in haste (bullet train, not railroading as one congressman joked) with the congress ditching their other affairs and staying to deliberate until 12 midnight. Is it because the elections is just around the corner? Never mind if we still have to face the financial crisis or the Swine Flu. There are other things that we should solve first! Why not do it after elections when people would no longer doubt the authenticity of the authors' intent? Why can't it wait? Imagine, the interpellation period was cut short and the debate was closed after only 5 people have spoken against ConAss (there were 13 people lined up). If that's not a dubious move, I don't know what to call it. This is is just like the Senate going full force over the HK-KH scandal when they could have spent their precious time on other issues.

No country or government is perfect, I get that. But at least we can try. At least we can stop looking for more power and start making our cuntry a better place in our own little way. And no, having a position in the government is not the only way by which we can make a change.

PS:
